About Us

The Bread Ministry has enlisted the aid of local ministries, individuals, and other social service agencies, yet support is currently not at the level needed to secure longevity. "We want to give others the opportunity to participate and see firsthand the power and blessing of Christ, and how we are able to offer immediate help unencumbered by red tape. Yet the very agencies we supply, have been either unwilling to share funding or are unable to do so due to policies prohibiting association with faith-based organizations. We need contributions so we can continue to help people."

The Bread Ministry made a missions trip to Carolina in 2002. They took 6,000 pounds of food and ended up parking in front of a store that was selling the same products The Bread Ministry was giving away. Volunteers began praying on public sidewalks. Eleven people gave their lives to Christ, and two miraculous healings occurred! Members of the The Bread Ministry crew were often asked why they were doing this. Their response? "We do everything for the love of Jesus." Other mission trips have been tentatively scheduled, however such trips are dependent upon funding. Each trip averages $600 to cover the cost of fuel, food, and lodging, Peyton has been their sole financier in addition to being fully responsible for the 13,000 square foot warehouse, its utilities, and all operating expenses. "We tithe off everything we receive to other ministries, and trust in God to meet our every need."

Among items needed are a larger warehouse with refrigeration units. The Bread Ministry is not just bread. It periodically receives donations of dairy products and other perishables. The warehouse is also be used to store clothing and furniture donations received. Contributions are necessary to cover salaries of a much needed staff. A paid staff is a dependable staff and would greatly aid in having the necessary infrastructure in place to support it. But until that time, Benjamin Peyton oversees God's warehouse, and is happy to give to others as he receives, ...good measure, pressed down, shaken together,... (Luke 6:38).
